Why have a grading system for pole dancing?
Like in most sports and dance styles, there is a hierarchy of competence in pole dancing where the dancer can progress from one level to the next.
Whilst it’s not compulsory to go through the grading system, in order to achieve a fundamental knowledge of pole dancing, there has to be a bench mark standard of technical expertise. With the popularity of pole dancing growing so rapidly, the grading system sets those students who have worked hard to master their skills apart from the others.
Grading also gives students a set of defined goals and direction, whilst opening many doors for them along the way, such as competitions, master classes and instructor opportunities.
The actual practical examination puts you under a lot of pressure, but this prepares you for onstage performances and future competitions. Anybody can learn pole dancing, but fluidity and finesse takes practice, drive and determination.
We grade our students every 4 months and hold regular master-classes instructed by our expert dancers.
